mockup multi page strip.png

Introduction

Now days women has a lot on their plate and they manage to juggle everything, from work to friends and kids if they are a parent. that understanding and the global pandemic made a big impact among women who started to turn to yoga as their way to center themselves, finding peace and quiet while stretching and moving their bodies.
But the need for a yoga app that centers around the women body and concratent changes such as menstrual cycle, fatigue ect' was ever more clear.
Meet YOGALINA yoga classes and sessions for women only.

User Research

For the few past years women who sought yoga classes for their specific needs would had to go to a frontal class in studioes or jym. the pandemic opened up the option of practicing yoga at home at your on conviniance, with live classes and also recorded sessions.
After the pandemic women preferd to stay on apps such as DOWN DOG ect.
most of the app are not devided genderly even though there are stuouidos that does, leaving women who has a thight schduale not to attent those classes.

* lack / shortage of time
* stuideos are expansive as are gym membership
* costume made for you and your spesific needs
* difficulty in starting / commiting

To better understand users needs, I conducted a survey among the Israeli women who practice yoga. I wanted to understand the difficulties they had if any and the user expiriance with thier current yoga platform. 54 women answered the survey.

After the initial research I did a competitive analysis of the current apps and services who provide women health and mental wellbeing with yoga. I compared the apps in terms of features, onboarding etc.
I found some good features like quick onboarding & a good freemium plan, but in most applications, there was no thought and consideration of the needs of womens body and or thier wellbeing whith menstration, spesific pains, postpardom depresion and so on.

Onboarding

the first screen in the app after the logo is the freemium onboarding.
in order to assess the user skill level i've created a few questions, similar to other yoga apps the questionnaire and the freemium model has proven a higher engagement of the user and easy entrance to the app as a whole.

Home

the dashboard is very simple and has all of the essentials for the user.
a calendar to keep up with the user continuity.
and a quick access to the latest sessions.

Favorites

the favorites section is very clean and contains only 4 cards: lessons, programs, meditations and practices.
for example the user select the meditation card , that will open a sub dashboard for the meditation section , which are all of the meditation audio played recently and access to the recommended at the bottom.

Profile

the profile section contains a total summary of the user progress and  3 key elements: progress, subscription and settings.
studies has shown that continuity and a display of progress improves the level of engagement and the will to continue with physical exercises, so in the progress section the user can see his data in variety of ways and a counter of achievements that also boost the determination of the user.

design ui

The final step was to design the user interfaces on the mobile app.
Interface design and color choices have enormous significance, especially when dealing with wholesome and after hours activities.
For the colors i chose a soft pastel color palette that conveys ease and calmness.
The interface design is clean and minimalist in order to create an app that will help focusing the user.
To give it a more personal touch i also illustrated the illustrations in the app.
